What happened
- Big week!! This one brought back that exciting feeling when you hear the Cha-Ching!! First 3 orders this week in the new store!! I started building some momentum this week, even though the workload itself was a little choppy. The new listing tools in Podzilla are making this a WHOLE lot easier too. Once the designs are done, I generate the mockups then move straight to the listing builder. I have listing templates setup for my most used listing settings and this is speeding things up tremendously for me. Once I hit 25 or so apparel listings, I had an idea in my head for some ornaments so I knocked out about 17 or 18 designs over the weekend and got them all listed. Using templates and the listing builder, I was able to create 8 ornament listings in 8 minutes! Makes me wish I was going to do more of them. I dont want to overload the store with ornaments though, so its back to apparel this week. Ended the week with 45 total listings, 3 orders and just over 40 total hours worked on the store since Aug 1st. Honestly, Im farther along than I thought I would be at this point!
What I learned
- Got hit with the Etsy reserve. Holding 30% of funds. Says it will be reevaluated on November?! I remember getting it on our first store 3 years ago, but dont remember it lasting 2 months! One more thing to consider for a new POD seller since they will have to float the production costs until the reserve is lifted and payouts start.
